During my time as anchor and correspondent, I demonstrated engaging storytelling and solid journalistic judgement. I am proud of the work I have done at both the national level with networks ABC News, NBC News and MSNBC, and at the local level in bringing viewers the information they need.
My body of work showcases the devotion I have for sharing stories in a way that allows audiences to make better, more informed decisions and opinions. That passion is just as strong now as it was then and I’m excited to commit to a news organization to bring my abilities to its viewers.
In addition to extensive experience in anchoring daily newscasts, my background includes breaking news coverage of some of the major events over the past 15 years. From the killing of Osama bin Laden, the fall of Wall Street, presidential elections, and the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriages, I was at the forefront of monumental events that shaped our world.
At the same time, I’ve covered lighter moments in pop culture and feel-good stories that brought inspiration. Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Lionel Richie, among the celebrities I’ve been able to land interviews with. There are also the special, heartwarming stories of brave firefighters, cancer survivors and standout kids that have brightened the day and encouraged a sense of community.
I am adept at anchoring daily newscasts, while also well-equipped to handle breaking news situations that impact people’s lives. I am calm, measured and welcoming in my delivery which has led to faithful viewership. In turn, I bring the same approach when reporting from the field taking viewers to the scene and giving them a front row seat to a story unfolding.
As a newsroom leader, I am guided by the steadfast tenets of unbiased and factual reporting. I earn my colleagues’ respect by the quality of my work and dedication to the team. Over the years, I have been fortunate to become part of and lead world-class teams of journalists that upheld network and local standards, committed to bringing viewers the best coverage possible.
I have a ‘must win,’ attitude which translates into quality stories that news organizations are proud to broadcast. Being tenacious in finding the next big story, I am also tireless in pursuing the must-have interviews.
Anchoring and reporting for local stations developed a love for covering communities that I cared about deeply. There is a special bond between the journalist and their surrounding environment that is rewarding and enriching and is one in which I look forward to reestablishing.
In recent years, I have taken my skills as a journalist and applied them to the public relations sector. Most recently, I have been consulting C-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies on media and presentation training and have built a roster of clients that includes PepsiCo, SAP, Kraft-Heinz, and Amgen.
In spite of the success, journalism is my true passion, and I am eager to return to the work. The industry is like none other and there is no substitute for the satisfaction in crafting and delivering stories to the community.
